Cookie Policy
Short read: we use almost no cookies. The dashboard remembers your access code in your browser; that is the only persistent identifier on your device.
1. What this policy covers
This policy covers cookies and similar browser-based storage technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) that the Motion Screener dashboard uses. It does not cover cookies set by third parties whose pages you may navigate to.
2. What we actually use
None of the items below carry advertising or cross-site tracking purposes. None are sold or shared with third parties.
2.1 Browser localStorage (essential)
motion.subject— a random access code (or your connected wallet address) we use to identify your credit balance. Without this you would have no way to access credits you paid for. Stored in localStorage, not transmitted in cookie headers.motion.cache.*— the last successful API response for each endpoint, so you keep seeing your data when you’re out of credits. Pure local cache, not transmitted.
2.2 HTTP cookies
The dashboard itself sets no first-party HTTP cookies. The API sets none. Cloudflare may set its own essential anti-DDoS cookies on the response (e.g., __cf_bm) which are out of our control and are documented in Cloudflare’s cookie reference.
2.3 Analytics, advertising, social
We do not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, hotjar, full-story, or any other tracker. No advertising trackers. No cross-site scripts.
3. Why we can show a one-time notice rather than a consent popup
Under EU/UK ePrivacy rules and similar laws, explicit consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. The items above are either (a) strictly necessary to provide the Service you requested or (b) set by infrastructure providers for security. Neither category requires opt-in consent. We still show a notice so you know what is being stored.
4. How to clear what we store
- Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites → motionscreener.com → Clear data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → search “motionscreener” → Remove.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data → search “motionscreener” → Remove Selected.
Clearing storage will also clear your access code. If you have credits attached to it and you haven’t recorded the code or attached a wallet, those credits are not recoverable.
5. Changes
We will indicate a new effective date when this Policy changes.
